For those interested in history and architecture the Ybor city and Hyde Park neighbourhoods are worth visiting.Tampa has everything, beautiful weather, and big city attractions all with a small town feel.

Take a funicular to the top of the mountain that sits behind Puerto Plata to see a replica of the original Christo Redentor located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There is also short path to follow with nice views, a cave, and a lagoon which is really just a pool. Fortaleza San Felipe is a Historical fort located by the main bay of Puerto Plata. In front of the fort is a nice grassy area that's good for a picnic overlooking the water
